Pre-planning Information

Pre-arranging can be as simple as telling the funeral director what your funeral service will consist of. It provides peace of mind that all of your considerations have been addressed, and that all of your wishes and decisions will be fulfilled. This relieves family members and friends of difficult burdens during a sensitive time.

During a pre-arrangement, the cost of the funeral is determined based on the service, merchandise, cemetery fees, and any other applicable charges from a church, organist, soloist, or newspaper obituary. By placing the funds in a funeral escrow trust fund at your local bank, the interest earned on your trust offsets any inflationary costs associated with the passing of time.
Many families pre-arrange and pre-fund their funeral arrangements when a loved one is applying for government assistance and is spending down to qualify for Medicaid payments for a nursing home.
