Holmes, Richard P., 58, formerly of Beach Road, died peacefully on July 16, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was the former husband of Marietta R. (Burke) Holmes.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Raymond P. and Lois F. (Davis) Holmes, he lived in Barrington for 35 years and Rumford for 20 years.

Mr. Holmes was a property manager for J5 Properties for nine years. He previously was the operations manager for the former Herman’s Furniture Company. Richard was a member of the Barrington United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, boating, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his former wife, he is survived by three daughters; Lisa Ann Justa and her husband Nelson of Cranston, Lori Beth Holmes and her fianc Frederick Rybka Jr. of Riverside, and Tamara Rose Holmes and her fiance; Stephen Burns of Riverside, a brother; Raymond P. Holmes of Florida, and six grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert P. Holmes.

His funeral will be held on Thursday July 21, 2011 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 a.m. with a funeral service in the Barrington United Methodist Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
