Murphy, Donald, G., 85, formerly of Brookfield Road, died peacefully on August 7, 2015 at Kent Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Vivianne A. (Rego) Murphy.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Henry A. and Irene F. (Quillen) Murphy, he lived in East Providence for 60 years and West Warwick for 25 years.

Mr. Murphy was a mechanic at the Woods Service Station for 16 years.

Donald served in the Rhode Island Air National Guard.

Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his ten children, Michael G. Murphy of Westerly, Carleen M. Massed of Portsmouth, Ann M. Murphy of Riverside, Sharon M. Tagliaferri of Johnston, Donald S. Murphy of Warren, Dennis T. Murphy of Riverside, Kelly M. Duffy of West Warwick, Matthew J. Murphy of East Providence, Daniel H. Murphy of Bristol and Peter J. Murphy of Johnston; a twin sister, Doris P. Stepenski of Rumford; twenty grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was the brother of the late Adelaide Adams, Robert and George Murphy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence on Thursday August 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
