Feeney, Veronica, “Ronnie,” (Saunders), 84, of Harvard Street, Riverside, died peacefully on March 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late William A. Feeney Sr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Leon and Marion (Walsh) Saunders, she lived in East Providence for 60 years.
Mrs. Feeney was a secretary at St. Brendan School for 20 years before retiring in 1998.
Veronica was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many friends.
She is survived by her children, Karen E. Ballou and her husband Richard of Lincolnville, ME, Maureen E. Feeney-Beaudoin of Riverside, William A. Feeney Jr. and his wife Maria of Barrington, Paul T. Feeney and his wife Stacey of Riverside and Kevin M. Feeney (E.P.P.D.) and his wife Lori Ann of Riverside; two brothers, Charles Saunders of Riverside and William Saunders of West Virginia; a sister, Dorothy J. Drapeau of Seekonk, MA; sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Ann Elizabeth Feeney and sister of the late Leon W. Saunders and Rowena Saunders.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Calling hours are Tuesday 3-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Will miss our long two hour chats my dear friend Ronnie Saunders, now you are an Angel in Heaven like you were here on earth. Am so sorry I never got to RI to visit or now to offer all of you my condolences. She stayed the same from a kind, caring kid to a kind caring Women. Will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
We shared many special occasions together as first graders up till young Women.

On behalf of my family, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your mother. Although it has been a long time since I lived in Riverside, I remember her as a very nice and kind person.
It breaks my heart to know I am not in RI at this time to offer my condolences in person. Ronnie meant alot to me. She had a caring wonderful heart. she was one of my favorite patients and owns a piece of my heart. O am sorry for your lost and will keep you all in my prayers
My deepest heartfelt sympothies are with all of you at this very sad time. Your mom had so much grace, class and courage, as well as a big heart. So many fond memories to reflect upon. May God be with you all to ease your pain and your memories keep her alive and smiles on your faces.

Having just heard of your mom’s passing, I can’t tell you how very, very sorry we are for your family. Ronnie first touched my and my husband’s life at St. Brendan’s, he a student at the time and me a teacher. She was the best secretary and friend ever. We will always have such fond memories of her. Her struggle with her illness never got the better of her as her strength was always evident. Please accept our sympathies and know that Ronnie will now light up heaven just like the way she lit up all the lives she touched. Again, we are very sorry for your loss.
