William J. Cole

Cole, William J., 68, of Beacon Park Drive, Riverside, died unexpectedly on November 29, 2022.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles P. Cole and Florence (Thereaut) Cole, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
Mr. Cole worked in Security at Twin River Casino for many years.
William enjoyed fishing and playing pool. A sports enthusiast he was a devoted New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his siblings, Charles P. Cole of Riverside, Patrick B. Cole of Newport, Corrine M. O’Donnell of Riverside, Stephen R. Cole of North Providence, Cherylanne M. Campanini of Johnston, Scott M. Cole of East Providence and Carla A. McBride of Rumford; several nieces and nephews; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the father of the late Jason Cole, brother of the late Paul W. Cole and Catherine Russell, grandfather of the late Autumn Cole, uncle of the late Matthew Rybka and was the life companion of the late Joanne LeMay.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday December 4, 2022 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 12 noon -2 p.m.

Rest peacefully Billy. The last day I saw you was sad. You told me your days were few. I’m so grateful we never loss touch and right up to the end we were close. A fine husband and devoted father. A dear friend. Twenty nine years of memories. I’ll miss you.
Bill, May you rest easy and be united with your loved ones in heaven. You were such a joy to work with. You made me smile when I most needed it.
I am so saddened to hear of Bills passing. He was an incredibly dedicated partner of many years to Joanne and a fixture of stability to her children and grandchildren. You will be deeply missed.

Bill you will be missed dearly . We couldn’t believe it when we heard about your passing you were a very nice person loved the classic rock you played we can heard in the spine at Twin river. I considered bill and stepfather. He made my mom happy, and that made me happy. Whenever he needed me he knew I would be there. I will miss our conversations about anything. he was always a positive and giving person with a smile. Rest in peace tell mom I said hi until we meet again my condolences to his family and friends.

It really says something about a person, when so many people are deeply affected by their passing. I, like many, worked with Bill for decades at Bally’s Twin River and formerly Lincoln Park. Hearing this awful news was shocking. He was a staple in the building. The consistently friendly face and voice when walking in and/or passing by. I’ve heard many people say he also made them feel so welcome when they first started. The building just won’t feel right without him in his spot. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed his position and he was always so pleasant and helpful to everyone. You would have never known if he was dealing with anything personally because he always asked how you were doing instead. I hope he knew the impact he had on so many people and how greatly missed he will be. This is a tough loss for all of us. Condolences to his family. Love you, Bill.

I was so sad to hear of Billy’s passing. He was such a big part of Twin River. I enjoyed our talks about family and life, he would always have a smile and a sweet gesture. He loved to bust me up and remind me if I haven’t stopped in to say hi in a while. Just a genuine, great guy. He will be missed by so many. God Bless you Billy.
