T. Peter Grant, 78, of East Providence passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, under the compassionate care of hospice at Eastgate NNR Center in East Providence, RI

Peter was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Hines) Grant and a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1965, being recognized as an All State Football Offensive and Defensive Lineman. He had an incredible work ethic and was a proud member of the Local 37 Ironworkers Union as well as a Commercial Fisherman for many years. He was also a 40-year Friend of Bill W.

Peter was a tremendous swimmer, loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed a good game of cribbage, and had an enduring respect for the ocean.

He is survived by his sister Mary Lou, his brother James, three daughters, Elisha Geller (Scott), Jessica Giguere (the late Steven), Erin Borland (Joseph) and six grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John and Andrew Grant and Eleanor Arico.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, 60 Turner Avenue, Riverside on Thursday November 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Peter’s memory to St. Brendan Church, 60 Turner Avenue, Riverside, RI, 02915 would be deeply appreciated.

  2. I was shocked n saddened to see “Tommy’s” pic on our EPHS CLASS of 65” Facebook page!
    I knew him well at St B’s where we were both in same class graduating in 1961 but we all called him Tommy then!
    He was well liked n just a real nice guy!
    My sincerest condolences to his family.
    He will be missed…..
