Theodore (Ted) F. Sykulski, 86, of Pine Cone Drive, Barrington, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 14, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (McGee) Sykulski and the former husband of the late Marga (Esslinger) Rosenbaum.

Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Golaszewski) Sykulski, he lived in Barrington for 44 years.

Ted enjoyed a varied career, including thirteen years as the owner and operator of Ted’s Barrington Norgetown. Later in his working life, he dedicated over fifteen years to building maintenance at Blithewold Manor.

Following completion of Naval Officers Candidate School in Newport, Ted was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, where he served five years. A man of dedication and quiet strength, he was the rock for his family – patient and kind. He carried the values of service and leadership throughout his life.

A deeply spiritual man, Ted was a devoted member of the Barrington United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the simple and meaningful pleasures of life – playing chess and tennis, skiing, reading and following politics. His interest reflected a curious mind, a competitive spirit and a deep appreciation for the world around him.

Besides his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his daughter, Lynn Sykulski, of West Berlin Vermont; two stepdaughters, Heather Lewis and her husband Douglas of South Easton, MA, and Katharine Murphy and her husband Ryan of West Newbury, MA; seven grandchildren – Jasper, Emma, Nathanial, Boston, Duke, Louisa and Scarlett; and his cousin, Jack Sykulski and his wife Barbara of South River, New Jersey. He was the brother of the late Joan Nowak.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Hope Health Hospice, his dedicated team of caregivers and a special thank you to Jessica, for their compassionate support.
