Ronald E. Kirkpatrick
Date of Passing:
Ronald E. Kirkpatrick, 89, of Sandy Point, Barrington, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Nancy C. (Moore) Kirkpatrick, with whom he shared 69 years of devoted marriage—a blessing he cherished above all else.
Born in Columbus, OH, Ronald was the son of the late John H. and Eileen C. (Teal) Kirkpatrick. He made Barrington his home for the past 42 years, where he built a life grounded in service, dedication, and the joy of family.
Ronald graduated from Franklin University in Columbus with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management. In 1954, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving three years of full-time active duty and five years in the ready reserve as an Aviation Electronic Technician First Class. His time in the Navy sparked in him a lifelong passion for flying, and he later became a licensed commercial pilot.
A loyal and accomplished professional, Ronald dedicated 40 years to Honeywell Inc., holding leadership positions in Columbus, Detroit, Providence, Boston, New York City, and Minneapolis. He retired in 1998 as Vice President and General Manager of the Northeast Area and North American Service Leader, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues across the country.
In his community, Ronald gave generously of his time and talents. He served for many years as Chairman of the Property Commission at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Barrington, and volunteered with Barrington Tap-In, always eager to lend a hand where it was needed.
Above all, Ronald was a man devoted to his family. He treasured the companionship he shared with them and found his greatest happiness in the love and closeness they built together.
Besides his wife Nancy, he leaves behind his son, Steven E. Kirkpatrick and his wife Katherine of Riverside; his daughter, Debra Sue Torgan and her husband David of Barrington; three cherished grandchildren, Daniel E. Kirkpatrick of Taunton, MA, Alyssa J. Torgan of Providence, and Stephanie A. Torgan of Boston, MA; and his sister, Kathleen S. Eder and her husband Jim of Hilliard, OH.
Funeral services will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Ronald’s memory to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA 02115, would be deeply appreciated.
My condolences to the entire family. He is at peace now and try to remember all the good times. Ron was a great man to family and friends, we will all meet up with him again God Bless Everyone
