Cynthia L. Lama, 63, of New Road, Rumford, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Providence, Cynthia was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Day) Lama. She lived in Rumford for the past 15 years, having previously resided in Barrington. A proud graduate of Barrington High School, she was a member of the Class of 1980.

Cynthia was employed as a Reservation Receptionist for Marriott International Hotels for over 10 years, where she was known for her welcoming presence, kindness, and genuine warmth toward everyone she encountered.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially reading, gardening, and listening to the music of Elton John. Cynthia loved to travel with her companion, David, and she deeply cherished the time spent with her loving family. Her gentle spirit, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her niece, Samantha Ferreira; her nephews, Thomas Ferreira, and Michael and Derek Peterson; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her best friend of 50 years, Cynthia Toolin. She was the sister of the late Janice Peterson and Emma L. Ferreira.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington, followed by burial in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington, on a date and time to be announced.
