Carol L. Connell

Date of Passing:

February 11, 2026

Carol Lee (Davol) Connell, 89, of Monmouth Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on February 11, 2026, at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William Thomas Connell, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Gryszkow) Davol, Carol made her home in Riverside for the past 55 years, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and friendship.

A proud graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1954, Carol carried with her the values of hard work and kindness throughout her life. She was employed as a cashier at the former Almacs Supermarket for 13 years before retiring, greeting customers with her warm smile and friendly conversation. She also generously gave her time working as a PTA officer at St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket.

Carol was a devoted communicant of St. Brendan Church in Riverside and formerly a parishioner of St. Casimir Church in Warren. Her faith was an important part of her life and a quiet source of strength and guidance.

She was a member of the Kendbrin Swim and Tennis Club, where she enjoyed time with friends and playing tennis. Carol found great happiness in simple pleasures — relaxing days at Warren Beach, luncheons with dear friends, traveling with her family, and, most especially, spending treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in each of them.

She is survived by her loving children, William J. Connell and his wife Diane of North Smithfield, Nancy Rippel and her husband Brian of Spotsylvania, VA, and Michael T. Connell of Riverside; four cherished grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her cousin, Barbara Donahue of Phoenix, AZ.

Carol will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she extended to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Warren. Calling Hours are Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions to a charity of your choice in Carol’s memory would be deeply appreciated.
