Beverly Jean Helgerson

Beverly Jean Helgerson (formerly Bullard, née Stone), the youngest daughter of Joseph John Stone and Victoria Trucheon Stone, died peacefully in Providence, R.I. on March 21, 2026. She was 95.
Born June 2, 1930 in Malone, N.Y. into a large and loving family, Beverly had 10 siblings, including sisters Aurora, Irene, Blanche, Beatrice, Anna, Eleanor, Margaret and Joyce and brothers Floyd and Harry. She went to St. Joseph’s school in her hometown before attending college in Rome, N.Y. and Yonkers, N.Y. for nursing.
Beverly worked in Providence at Miriam Hospital, the Visiting Nurse Association and Rhode Island Hospital before becoming a private nurse.
She had four children with her first husband Robert Bullard before he passed away, including Christine, Barbara, Joe and Joann. Later remarried, she was also predeceased by her second husband Alvin Helgerson.
Beverly is survived by her son Joe and daughters Joann and Barbara; grandchildren Nicole, Justin, Allison and Elizabeth; great-granddaughter Delia; step-grandchildren Ana and Mary and step-great-granddaughter Izzy. She also is remembered by her many nieces and nephews, leaving a rich legacy of deep love for family always so evident in her eyes.
Beverly loved gatherings with family and friends, traveling, reading, playing cards, puzzling, musical theater at Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut and listening to the loons on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
The last of her many siblings to pass away, Beverly was the matriarch of the Stone family, beloved across generations. She will be buried in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone, N.Y., with a mass held at a later date.
