Tavares, Adelina, R., (Pereira), 82, of Bristol Avenue, Riverside, died unexpectedly on May 20, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Tavares.
Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Ricardo and Isabel (Pereira) Pereira, she lived in Riverside for 54 years.
Mrs. Tavares was a seamstress for the American Tourister Co. for 34 years before retiring in 1993.
Adelina was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a former member of the former Ladies of Fatima Auxiliary.
Besides her husband of 53 years, she is survived by a daughter; Isabel M. Blakely of Riverside; two grandsons, Robert and Jesse Blakely, both of Riverside; two sisters, Maria DeBrum and Laura Pereira and two brothers, Ricardo and Manuel Pereira.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday May 24, 2014 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
