Hurst, Alison, V., 47, of Wingate Road, Riverside, died peacefully at home on January 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of John N. Hurst.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Lester R. and Aria (Goodwin) Peavy, she was a lifelong resident of East Providence.

Mrs. Hurst was a teacher assistant for the City of East Providence School Department for five years. She was a graduate of Rhode Island College.

Alison enjoyed the beach, reading and spending time with her loving family.

Besides her husband of 26 years, she is survived by a son, Connor M. Hurst of Riverside and a daughter, Amy A. Hurst of Riverside.

Calling hours will be held on Monday January 11, 2016 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 12, 2016 in the Grace Episcopal Church, 175 Mathewson Street, Providence at 11 a.m.
