Patterson, Andrew, S., 26, of East Providence, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday March 4, 2010. Andrew was a committed family member and an enlistee of the United States Navy, as a Radar & Weapons Computer Technician in the Submarine Division.

Andrew was the son of Gail and Paul Brodeur of East Providence and Matthew and Patricia Patterson of North Scituate. His sister; Laura B. Patterson, his brother; Drew Brodeur and his little sister; Emily Grace Patterson survive him. He is the beloved grandson of his maternal grandmother; Muriel Giorgio of East Providence. His paternal grandparents are the late Senator Richard R. Patterson and the late Evelyn B. Patterson. Andrew also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who loved him and will miss him greatly.

Andrew was an avid fisherman who loved the water. He was a member of the Providence Washington Insurance Bowling League and he enjoyed playing pool. He was a volunteer at Rebuilding Together, McCauley House, J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center and many other many environmental causes. He was a 2001 graduate of St. Raphael’s Academy in Pawtucket and worked as a meat cutter at Carceiri’s Market, Whole Foods and Dave’s Market. He also worked in his family business, Abbey Roofing Co. until June of 2009 when he joined the US Navy.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday March 10, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Elwood Avenue, Cranston at 10 am.
