Calise, Aniello V., ‘Danny’, 75, of Snagwood Road, died peacefully on April 26, 2017. He was the beloved of companion of Betty Clause.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Vito and Gertrude (Stedford) Calise, he lived in Foster for 46 years.

Mr. Calise Enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, part of the Implementation of the Permanent Fire Department of Lymansville, North Providence and worked for his Uncle’s business Vito’s Express.

In 1971 he began his empire, ‘Danny’s Auction’ in Foster, RI and so it began a lifetime of adventure in the biggest versatile auction in New England.

In the late 1970’s Danny began another adventure as a country western show promoter. Later in the 1980’s he opened his opened his own moving company Danny’s Movers. Because he was such a generous person, he never hesitated to give his time and resources to his community and anyone in need, usually anonymously.

Besides his companion, he is survived by his three daughters, Lori Mihailides (David) of Foster, Melissa Calise (Robert) of Johnston and Stephanie Westgate (Kevin) of Glocester; a son, Michael Clausen (Heather) of North Smithfield; two sisters, Maria Martinelli of North Providence and Suzanne Lindall of West Warwick; six grandchildren, David, Amanda, Devin, Theo, Ashley, Isabella, Wyatt and Karissa and cherished nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leroy Calise and Madeline Calise.

He was larger than life and he did it his way.

His funeral will be held on Monday May 1, 2017 from the TUCKER-QUINN FUNERAL HOME, 643 Putnam Pike, (Rt. 44), Greenville at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul the Apostle Church, Danielson Pike, Foster at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Rhode Island Avenue, Johnston. Calling hours are Sunday 3-7 p.m.
