Annabelle Zinni, “Tootsie,” 74, of Prospect Street, Barrington died peacefully on August 26, 2021. She was the wife of the late Nicholas W. Zinni.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Domenic and Domenica (Salvo) Gilberto, she lived in Barrington for 61 years.

Mrs. Zinni was a medical secretary for Dr. Steven Sack for 24 years before retiring in 2011.

Annabelle was a graduate of Barrington High School Class of 1965. She was a past President of the Holy Angels Church Women’s Guild and volunteered at Holy Angels Parish during her retirement.

Annabelle enjoyed gardening plants and flowers, taking rides by the water and spending time with her loving family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Dalton and her husband John of North Smithfield; a son, Nicholas D. Zinni of Barrington; two sisters, Madelyn Lavin and her husband Robert of Riverside and Toni McGuire and her husband Michael of Bristol; her grandson’s, Alec, Evan and his wife Jillian and Dale, a future great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and her devoted cat, Abby.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday August 31, 2021 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Avenue, Barrington at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 p.m.

She made us feel welcome in the home and more than tolerated the knucklehead teenager shenanigans we always seemed to be up to. She was a second mom to us in high school and beyond. The joy and love she shared will be with me in my heart forever. Sending love and prayers to Nick, Linda and the entire family.

  5. So sorry to learn of Tootsie’s death. She was a neighbor and friend and I cannot remember a time when she was not smiling and bubbly.

  6. My whole family knew Tootsie for years from Dr. Sack’s office. She had such a joy about her, she’d always be so happy to see you. She treated all the kids like family. After she retired, I’d occasionally bump into her and we’d have a great gab. What a wonderful woman – gone too soon. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
