Fonseca, Anthony, 78, of Riverside, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 7, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Karen (McEntee) Fonseca for 50 years. Born in Taunton, MA, he was the son of the late Manuel and Eliza Fonseca.

Tony was a graduate of Taunton High School Class of 1955 and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was employed by the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority and was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local #618, for 23 years before retiring in 1999.

He was a member of the RIPTA Retirees Association and a member of the Rhode Island Regional Squadron, Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association, Inc.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Craig Fonseca of Riverside; a daughter, Kimberly Cordeiro and her husband John Cordeiro of West Warwick and five grandchildren, Kyle, Jack and Lauren Fonseca and Jacob and Sarah Cordeiro. He was the brother of the late August, Albert and Joseph Fonseca. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside on Monday July 11, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Sunday July 10, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. at the W.
