Zafiriades, Apostolos A. “Paul”, 50, of Beverly Road, Riverside, died unexpectedly on October 19, 2022.

Born in Haverhill, MA, a son of Eva (Lazos) Zafiriades of Riverside and the late Vasilios Zafiriades, he lived in Riverside for 44 years.

Mr. Zafiriades was a former cook at Town Pizza Restaurant, Riverside and Hope Street Pizza, Providence for many years.

Paul enjoyed playing basketball, reading and listening to music. He was a faithful follower of the Grateful Dead and will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and one-liners.

Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Cote Zafiriades of East Providence; a sister, Lena Zafiriades and her husband Saki of Barrington; two nephews, Christos and Vasilios; a niece, Evyenia and a granddaughter, Penelope Zafiriades.

His Funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 26, 2022 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington. Calling Hours are Wednesday morning 10 a.m.- 12 noon.

    It is with a heavy heart I learned of Paul’s passing through Father Andrew.
    My deepest sympathy to you both and your family. I remember with a smile having Paul as a student at Waddington School where he always had that beautiful grin, sense of humor, and gleam in his eye. He was a very bright young man and a joy to have in class.
    May you hold in your heart some wonderful memories.

  6. Great kid and first friend when I moved to Riverside. Can’t even begin to tell his life story…
    He will be missed, his time with me and his friends will never be forgotten! God speed.
