Sylvia, Arthur, J., ‘Pasey’, 89, of Waseca Avenue, died peacefully on March 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Sylvia.

A lifelong resident of Barrington, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Larisa) Sylvia.

Mr. Sylvia was a Plant Manager for the Standard Uniform for 25 years before retiring in 1988.

Arthur was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Swansea Country Club for the past 20 years. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan.

Mr. Sylvia was an Army Veteran serving during World War II.

Besides his wife of 26 years, he is survived by a sister, Gloria Sylvia Mowry of Warren; a step-son, William Wood and his wife Jill of Riverside; two nephews, William E. Myers and his wife Susan of Barrington and Karl Sylvia Jr. and his wife Mary of South Carolina; four nieces; Jacqueline Ullman of Stow, MA, Karen Barry of Florida, Joanne Sylvia and Maryanne Gagne, both of Methuen, MA two step-granddaughters and one step-great granddaughter and several great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Karl Sylvia and Anthony Sylvia and uncle of the late Joseph Myers.

His funeral will be held on Monday March 14, 2016 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
