Carroll, Barbara H. (Kinsella), 87, of Shady Lane, Riverside, died peacefully on July 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of William L. Carroll.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late John V. and Helen M. (Cooney) Kinsella, she lived in Riverside for 62 years.

Mrs. Carroll was a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Sturdy Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1951.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her 16 grandchildren. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Besides her husband of 66 years, she is survived by five daughters, Patricia A. Thacker and her husband Michael of Barrington, Maribeth Carroll of Riverside, Barbara-Jean Vallante and her husband Anthony of Rumford, Leanne Sargo of Riverside and Geralyn Carroll of Barrington; eight grandchildren, Kylene M. Arredondo, Shae E. Goodhue, Kaitlyn R. Kelly, Michael J. Thacker Jr., Tyler C. Blake, Chelsey C. Vallante, Matthew J. Sargo and Alexandra C. Sargo and eight great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Janet Roca Lee, John J. Kinsella and Joan F. Kinsella.

Her funeral will be held on Monday July 23, 2018 from the W.RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Academy-Bay View Chapel, 3070 Pawtucket Avenue, Riverside at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday 3-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Barbara’s memory to St. Mary Academy-Bay View, 3070 Pawtucket Avenue, Riverside, RI 02915 would be deeply appreciated.

  2. I am so blessed to have the Carroll’s as my surrogate family. Mrs. Carroll was a strong woman of great principle with a wonderful sense of humor which she imparted in her beautiful daughters and grandchildren. My heartfelt sympathy to Mr. Carroll, my dearest friend Maribeth, her lovely sisters all of which I’ve come to know well over the years, Pat, BJ, Leanne, & Geri. I am so sorry for this HUGE loss to your family. Praying for comfort and peace in the coming days for all of you.

  3. Aunt Barbara will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was kind and loving, and had a great sense of humor. Uncle Leo and all my cousins are in my thoughts at this difficult time.
