Mayforth, Barbara J., 71, of Poplar Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on August 30, 2018.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Richard A. and Mary (Black) Mayforth, she lived in Riverside for 40 years.

Ms. Mayforth was an LPN at the Arc of Blackstone Valley since 2008. She also was an LPN at Rhode Island Hospital for 34 years before retiring in 1998. She previously was a Special Police Officer for the East Providence Department for 9 years.

Barbara loved animals and enjoyed helping people.

She is survived by her loving friends, neighbors, colleagues, patients, and her devoted cat Bubba and devoted dog Daisy.

Her funeral service will be held on Sunday September 2, 2018 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 2:30 p.m. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon 1-2:30 p.m. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

  3. Barbara- What a gentle souls she was caring for all the lost souls.She took everyone in and gave a place for them recover. She took ing stray animal and gave them love and rehabilitate them. I added to hear she passed.May she rest now in peace with her family.
