Vandal, Barbara, V., (Pierson), 80, formerly on James Street, died peacefully on February 11, 2014. She was the wife of the late Maurice C. Vandal.
Born in East Providence, a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Mary (Wholehouse) Pierson, she lived in East Providence for 51 years.
Mrs. Vandal was a bookkeeper for the Chadwick Yarn Mfg. for 12 years before retiring in 1998. She enjoyed golfing, cooking and playing cards.
She is survived by a daughter; Colleen M. Vandal of East Providence two sons; Major General Thomas S. Vandal, U.S. Army, of West Warwick and John E. Vandal of Warwick, six grandchildren; Jon T. Flamand, James Hayes, Nicholas A., Eric T., Stephen A. and Rachel J. Vandal and a great granddaughter; Audrey Flamand. She was the sister of the late Margaret and Darrell Pierson.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday February 15, 2014 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Avenue, East Providence at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
