Mellen, Bernard E., 88, of Liverpool Street, Warwick, died peacefully on July 4, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.

Born in Providence, a son of the late James E. and Virginia (Grenier) Mellen, he lived in Warwick since 1984 previously residing in Providence.

Mr. Mellen was a Pipefitter for Local # 51 for 32 years before retiring 1984. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda L. Furtado of Riverside and Bernice M. Mellen of South Carolina; two sons, Brad E. Mellen of Warwick and Brian P. Mellen of North Carolina; two sisters, Virginia Short of Florida and Claire Downey of Cranston; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late James Mellen and Joan Winfield.

A private burial with Military Honors will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
