McDonald, Bernard, F., ‘Bernie,’ 77, of Hanley Farm Road, died peacefully on February 10, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Arbolino) McDonald.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late James and Mary (Bannon) McDonald, he lived in Warren for 15 years previously residing in Riverside for 35 years.

Mr. McDonald was a manager for the former New England Telephone Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1990.

Bernie was a 50 year communicant of St. Brendan Church and was a former member of the St. Brendan Church choir. He also was a former member of the East Providence Senior Golf League and a member of the Telephone Pioneer’s Association.

Mr. McDonald was a graduate of St. Raphael’s Academy Class of 1951 and Bryant College Class of 1954.

Besides his wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sons; Kevin M. McDonald of Foster and Kenneth M. McDonald and his wife Erin of Gloucester, a daughter; Kathleen M. Carpano and her husband Frank of Lincoln, a sister-in-law; Mildred McDonald of Centerville, MA, seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late James McDonald.

His funeral will be held on Monday February 14, 2011 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Calling hours are Sunday 3-7 pm. A PRIVATE family burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery
