Moan, Beverly, J., (Johnson), 83, of Mercer Street, died peacefully on October 22, 2013. She was the wife of the late James F. Moan Sr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William T. and Edith (Horracks) Johnson Sr., she lived in East Providence, for 55 years.

Mrs. Moan was a customer service manager for the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority for 14 years before retiring in 1993.

Beverly was a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She was a member of the East Providence Senior Center bowling and golfing leagues. A sports enthusiast, she was a devoted New England sports fan.

She is survived by a son; Michael T. Moan and his wife Cheryl of Providence, a daughter-in-law; Mary Ann (Kennedy) Barbary of North Providence, two sisters; Audrey Leveille of Warwick and Dolores Falaguerra of Riverside, five grandchildren and two great grandsons. She was the mother of the late James F. Moan Jr. and sister of the late William Johnson Jr.

Her funeral will be held on Monday October 28, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Avenue, East Providence at 9 am. Burial will follow in The Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Sunday 3-6 pm.
