Brian J. Jennings, 62, of West Avenue, Pawtucket died unexpectedly Wednesday,
June 25, 2025 at Rhode Island Hosptial, Providence.
Born on December 2,1962 in Providence Rhode Island he was the beloved son of Rosemary (Monteiro) Gomes and the late Dr. Lummer Jennings, Jr. Ed. D.
He grew up in Providence and was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School, class of 1982. He attended Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts.
Brian was employed as a Customer Service Representative for Citizens Bank.
He had passion for music, honing his skill as a DJ. He was known by the stage name DJ B Smooth. His love for music was evident in every beat, every mix, and every smile brought to the faces of those on the dance floor.
He was an avid sports fan especially for the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed fishing, playing basketball and going to Jazz Festivals. He was an active member of The Holy Name of Jesus Church Gospel Choir and former member of The Cape Verdean Progressive Center.
Brian was always a gentleman. He was a gentle soul who was patient and kind to everyone who crossed his path. He will be remembered as a person who loved his family and friends.
Besides his mother he is survived by his two brothers, Kevin M. Jennings of Pawtucket and Gary T. Jennings of Providence, two aunts, Beverly Monteiro, of Cranston, Janice Garrett of Fayetteville, GA, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday July 3, 2025 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in The Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp Street Providence at 12 noon Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
Visitation 9:00 – 10:45 a.m .
Cousin Rosemary, my heartfelt and deepest condolences, go out to you & Gary at this time of loss. I have fond memories of hanging out with Bryan when we wouldvisit Rhode Island, especially at the C.V. Club. God reclaimed one of his good ones in taking him back up to Heaven. May God’s Strength be with you, Gary and the rest of the family.
