Luther, Carl A., 65, of Stanley Avenue, Barrington, died peacefully on October 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Providence, a son of Irene (Lindsay) Luther of Barrington and the late Bruce A. Luther, he lived in Barrington for many years.
Mr. Luther served on the Barrington Police Department for 30 years.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Amanda L. Luther of Barrington; two sisters, Cindy Benway and her husband Rusty of Barrington and Diane Baxter and her husband John of East Providence; several nieces and nephews and two great nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington on Thursday October 17, 2019 at 10 a.m. A private family burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Carl’s memory to the Carmelite Monastery, 25 Watson Avenue, Barrington, RI, 02806 would be deeply appreciated.
I am very sorry. Carl taught me how to swim at Barrington Beach in the 1960’s.
I’m so sorry to hear about this, lost touch with cousin Carl after my mother died in 2012 when I last saw him and his sisters Diane and Cindy at the funeral. I know how difficult it is the first Christmas after losing a loved one, so I’ll pray for Amanda, Diane, Cindy and of course aunt Irene who I’m sure is grieving terribly. Love to you all.

Amanda, i am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. i worked with him for 20 years @ staples. He loved you for sure as he talked about you all the time. he was very proud of you. Your dad was a fabulous broker and he loved working with the folks @ staples. He will be missed. I am very sorry for your loss. Carl is in my prayers.

Bonnie & I were saddened to hear about our class mate Carl. We recently had the chance to reconnect, share a few laughs and play golf and together a few times over the past few months. Our sincere condolences go out to Carl’s entire family.
Amanda, I am sending love, prayers and condolences to you and your whole family as I recall the many years since I first met you as a sweet child entering the St. Luke’s Religious Education program. I wish I could be present tomorrow at your Dad’s celebration of life to tell you in person what a great young lady you are, but I have a prior commitment I cannot change.
