Major, Carol, A., 61, of Thurston Street, Riverside, died unexpectedly on August 29, 2013.

Born in Providence, a loving daughter of William A. and Madeline G. (O’Malley) Major of Riverside, she was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Carol was a registered nurse for 26 years. She also was a clerk at the Cherry & Webb, Filenes and Macy’s Department stores for many years. She was a graduate of CCRI and Salve Regina University.

Carol was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. She enjoyed reading, embroidering and developing family scrapbooks. She was devoted to her family and also enjoyed spending time with her loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister; Marguerite L. Major of Riverside, three brothers; Daniel T. Major of Riverside, George E. Major of Riverside and William D. Major of Seekonk, MA and nieces and nephews; Jessica, Melissa, Kristen, Christopher, Daniel, Megan and Mattisen Major and Abbey Haynes.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday September 3, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside 9:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
