Cesar Soares-Arraial, 63, of East Providence, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lidia Maria (Amaral) De-Mederios Soares, with whom he shared a life filled with love, devotion, and family.

Born in São Miguel, Portugal, Cesar was the son of the late Manuel Massias Arraial and Francelina Soares-Arraial. He lived in East Providence for the past 10 years, previously residing in Sao Miguel, Portugal. A hardworking and dedicated man, Cesar was self-employed as a handyman-laborer, proudly operating his own company for many years and earning the respect of those who knew his work ethic and generosity.

Cesar was a communicant of St. Francis Church in East Providence. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially listening to music, creating wood art projects with his hands, and passionately supporting his beloved Benfica Soccer Team.

Besides his wife of 43 years, he is survived by his loving children, Jose Fernando de Mederios Soares, Hildeberto Mederios Soares, and Ana Rita Soares DaRosa and her husband Christopher; his cherished grandchildren, Ana Clara Soares and Diogo Soares; five sisters, Helena Soares, Maria Soares, Santocristo Soares, Natefidade Soares, and Fatima Soares; and his brother, Carlos Soares. He was the father of the late Emanuel Joao Mederios Soares and the brother of the late Nelia Soares, Amario Soares, and Tony Soares.

Cesar will be remembered for his loving heart, strong faith, tireless work ethic, and the deep devotion he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the lives he touched.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 3, 2026 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 3:00 p.m.
