Charles H. Patterson III

Date of Passing:

November 18, 2025

Charles H. Patterson III, 65, of Tiverton, formerly of Riverside and Bristol, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Lisa C. (Brown) Briggs.

Born in Providence, Charles was the son of the late Charles H. Patterson Jr. and Pauline L. (Carpenter) Patterson. He made his home in Tiverton for the past two years, having previously lived in Bristol and Riverside. A proud graduate of East Providence High School, Class of 1978, Charles went on to build a successful career as the owner-operator of Century Sheet Metal Inc. in Riverside, where he dedicated over 30 years of hard work and craftsmanship.

A talented musician at heart, Charles was a drummer who lent his rhythm and passion to several local bands throughout the years. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, boating, and spending treasured time with his loving grandchildren. Whether he was out on the water, enjoying a good card game, or playing poker with friends, Charles was happiest when surrounded by the people and moments he loved most.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles H. Patterson IV and his wife Alicia of Bristol and Timothy W. Bruce-Patterson and his wife Molly of Bellows Falls, VT; a daughter, Chelsea A. Kwolek and her husband Charles of Greenville; and five cherished grandchildren: Charles V, Penelope, Ginny, Camden, and Julianna. He is also survived by two stepsons, Luke Blauch of California and Nick Blauch of Seattle, WA, and two step-granddaughters, Celeste and Beverly Blauch.

Charles will be deeply missed by his three sisters, Nancy Roberts and her husband Jonny of Swansea, MA; Barbara Vieira and her life partner Brian Travis of Swansea; and Elaine Wojcikiewicz and her husband Michael of Cumberland; as well as his brother, James R. Patterson and his wife Gail of Riverside. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. He was the former husband of Pamela (Rosenholm) Macari.

Charles will be remembered for his generosity, his spirited love for life, and the unwavering devotion he showed to his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, at 3 p.m.

Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Charles’s memory to the Jimmy Fund – Dana Farber, 10 Brookline Place West, 5th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226 would be deeply appreciated.

  4. Charlie was a friend foremost and a business associate. I always chose to do business with Charlie because we were friends, but more importantly, I knew without a doubt that things would be done right. He was a detail-oriented person and always approached things while maintaining a sense of humor. I can almost hear his laugh now, which will be sorely missed… My deepest condolences to Lisa, all his family, of whom there are too many to name indivisually, and friends. Peace
