Bell, Charles, J., 63, died peacefully on May 23, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Connie L. (Burger) Bell. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding aniversary on June 24, 2011.
Born in Warwick, a son of the late John J. and Shirley Mae (Hird) Bell, he lived in Riverside for 30 years.
Mr. Bell was a rail road conductor for Amtrak for 35 years before retiring in 2007.
Charles was a graduate of Rhode Island College Class of 1972. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Besides his wife of 38 years, he is survived by two daughters, Erin McCarthy and her husband Shawn of Riverside and Johanna Richards and her husband Jody of Riverside, six loving beautiful grandchildren who meant the world to him, Alexis, Brianna, Miranda, Aidan, Owen and Charlotte, two brothers, Peter Bell of Jamestown and Daniel Bell of Wickford, three sisters, Shirley Bell and Jacquelyn Bell, both of Jamestown and Nancy Dunn of Westerly and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
His Military Honors funeral will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Charles’s memory to a charity of your choice would be deeply appreciated.
