Corinne J. “Renie” Dufresne

Date of Passing:
Corinne J. “Renie” Dufresne, 87, of Yale Avenue, Riverside, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren. A lifelong resident of Riverside, Renie was born to the late John H. and Gertrude (Bacon) Dufresne.
As a young woman, Renie brought energy and joy to the community, working at the Crescent Park Alhambra Ballroom during her teenage years—a place filled with music and laughter that perfectly matched her warm spirit. She roller skated her way through RI and SE Mass, taking her nieces Pat, Ann, Robin, and Joyce making all their skating skirts. She also rode her motorcycle along with her brothers with the Blue Knights. She later spent many years as an administrative secretary at the former Green Brothers Box Company, where her dedication and strong work ethic made her a valued and trusted colleague.
After retiring, Renie devoted herself fully to caring for her beloved mother, embracing the role with compassion and grace. She was never happier than when she was caring for those she loved, always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a kind word.
Renie was a familiar and cherished presence at the East Providence Senior Center, where she enjoyed many afternoons playing pool and sharing coffee with her dear friends. Her friendship was genuine, her laughter contagious, and her love for life enduring. Renie was a diehard Red Sox fan and enjoyed bantering back and forth with her great nephew Michael, an avid Yankee fan. She enjoyed dancing and music. She is now at the big family party as a guest of honor. They save the best for the last. So, raise a cup of tea and a magic bar in honor of this “ one tough cookie “as she dances her way through the door of the party. Godspeed Re-Re you will be loved forever.
She leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including her nieces and nephews: Joyce Willis, Donald Dufresne, Donna LePage, Debbie Coelho, Kathleen Bartlett, Ann Charbonneau, Robin Dufresne, Diane Dufresne, Michele Dufresne, and Steven Dufresne, as well as many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who will remember her with deep affection. She leaves her dear friend Ollive Russel and was the lifelong friend of the late Eileen Pringle.
Renie was predeceased by her beloved brothers: John R., Kenneth H., Theodore C., Robert W., and Donald R. Dufresne. She was the aunt of the late Patricia, Kenneth, and Michael Dufresne.
Renie’s kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. Calling hours will precede the service from 2:00–4:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at Little Neck Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Renie’s memory may be made to the VNA Hospice, 438 East Main Road, Middletown, Rhode Island 02842 or a charity of your choice.
