Dennis T. Murphy, 63, of Balkcom Street, Riverside, died unexpectedly on December 28, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband Theresa R. (Grant) Murphy.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Donald G. and Vivianne A. (Rego) Murphy, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
Mr. Murphy was a welder at Quonset Point Electric Boat for several years.
Dennis was a communicant of St. Brendan Church, Riverside.
He enjoyed building model airplanes, riding motorcycles and working with cars.
Dennis was a devoted father, grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Besides his wife of 38 years, he is survived by three daughters, Robin L. Murphy of Riverside, Brittany J. McNamee and her husband Thomas of Barrington and Lisa M. Miguel and her husband Edmund of Riverside; a son, Michael A. Miguel and his wife Margaret of Mt. Juliett, TN; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Michael G. Murphy of Westerly, Carleen M. Massed of Portsmouth, Sharon M. Tagliaferri of Johnston, Donald S. Murphy and Daniel H. Murphy both of Warren, Kelly M. Duffy and Matthew J. Murphy both of West Warwick, Peter J. Murphy of Johnston and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anne M. Murphy.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday January 5, 2025 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 2-5 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside on Monday January 6, 2025 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Dennis’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 ST. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be deeply appreciated.

Theresa and family, my deepest condolences for your loss. I have very fond memories of Dennis when I was younger, especially the Scarborough beach Sundays. He was a good man and even though i was a pain in the butt when I was younger he always included me. My heart goes out to you all. You are in my thoughts. *hugs*
