Bourne, Donald E. Jr., 73, formerly of Scott Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on May 28, 2021 at the Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine. He was the beloved husband of Janette C. (DeCosta) Bourne.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Donald E. Bourne Sr. and Thelma (Bent) Bourne, he lived in Riverside for 18 years and Sanford, Maine for 24 years.

Mr. Bourne was a salesman for Home Depot for 19 years before retiring in 2016.

Donald was a member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted New England Patriots fan.

Mr. Bourne was a United States Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam on the USS Enterprise which recovered the NASA Astronauts when they returned from their space mission.

Donald was a devoted husband and enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Besides his wife of fifty four years, he is survived by a daughter, Holly L. Clark of Riverside; two sons, Andy W. Bourne of Texarkana, Texas and Robert A. Bourne of Norwich, CT; two sisters, Mildred John of Harrisville and Patricia Leahy of Rumford, seven grandchildren and one great grandson.

Calling hours will be held on Monday June 7, 2021 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 8, 2021 in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick at 11 a.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted.   4. Don was an amazing guy, we spent many weekends playing cards with him and Jan, with Jan and I hiding the little weird monster in the bottom of his cup. Best of time and great memories. He will be missed. Our deepest sympathy and love to Jan, Holly, Andy and Robbie, as well as the rest of his family.
