Olson, Donald, V., 81, formerly of Maple Avenue, died peacefully on August 10, 2015. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Montella) Olson.

Born in Warwick, a son of the late Victor H. and Myrtle T. (Rubery) Olson, he lived in Barrington for 34 years.

Mr. Olson was a carpenter for the former Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank, Providence for 25 years before retiring in 1986.

Donald was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He was a former member of the Norwood Baptist Church. He was a DeMolay boy and was a youth basketball coach. He loved his dogs.

Mr. Olson was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two sons, Harold Degnan Jr. of Riverside and Stephen Degnan of East Providence; three sisters, Marlyn J. Fraser of Warwick, Gail B. Munroe of Warwick and Charlotte E. O’Brien of Warwick; two brothers, Alan J. Olson of Alabama and Victor H. Olson Jr. of Saunderstown and three grandsons.

His funeral service will be held on Friday August 14, 2015 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
