Donna ‘DeDe’ Duarte, 56, of Evergreen Drive, East Providence passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June, 22, 2016 at home. She was the wife of Eugene Pina, and mother of Lauren Duarte.

Born in Providence she was the daughter of Eva (Bento) Duarte and the late John L. Duarte. Donna had been employed as an administrative assistant for the former Fleet Bank and Brown University. She also worked as a dispatcher for the East Providence police department.

DeDe was best known for her quick Wit and enormous sense of humor! She enjoyed laughing, cooking, dancing and was an excellent caregiver.She loved life and opened her door to family, friends and anyone in need.

Besides her husband and mother she is survived by her daughter Lauren Duarte of East Providence, her sister Rita Robinson and her husband Phil of Michigan, Taalibah Cabral and her husband Carlos of East Providence, her brother John L. Duarte Jr and his wife Marlene of Brighton, MA, a step daughter Melanie Pina, of Warwick, a step son Gene Pina Jr, of Warwick 2 step grandsons Dayvon and Jayden Pina, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Her funeral service will be held June 29, 2016 at 11 am in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. Burial will follow in the Rumford Cemetery, Rumford, RI. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
