Kourtesis, Dora, 95, of Sea View Avenue, Riverside Terrace, Riverside, died peacefully on March 8, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late George Kourtesis.

Born in Brockton, MA, a daughter of the late George and Harriett Nonis, she lived in Riverside, Providence and Warwick.

Mrs. Kourtesis was a jewelry worker for the Providence Jewelry Mfg Company for 30 years before retiring in 1980. She then became a teacher’s assistant for the Warwick School Department for 10 years before retiring in 1995.

Dora was a member of the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Parish of Greater Providence, Cranston, where she also was a member of the Philotocous Society and taught Sunday school at the church. She enjoyed sewing, dining out and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son; John Kourtesis of Riverside, a daughter; Elaine Machado of Smithfield, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Katherine Poulos and Spiro Nonis.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday March 11, 2010 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 12 noon. Calling hours are Thursday morning 10 am to 12 noon. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
