Meehan, Doris B., (Hagenberg), “Nana,” 96, of Riverside Drive, Riverside Terrace, died peacefully on September 11, 2020. She was the wife of the late Hubert T. Meehan.

Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Hufsmith) Hagenberg, she lived on the Riverside Terrace for 60 years.

Mrs. Meehan was a clerk for the former Commercial Union Insurance Co. for many years. She was also a caring homemaker since retirement.

Doris enjoyed gardening, long walks on the Riverside Terrace, spending time with her loving family and was known for her famous brownies.

She is survived by two sons, John J. Meehan and his wife Mary of Warwick and Paul M. Meehan of Riverside; four grandchildren, Thomas R. Meehan and his wife Allison, Daniel P. Meehan and his wife Kristen, Caitlin Fisher and her husband Daniel and John P. Meehan and his wife Kassandra and five great grandchildren, Jack, William, Robert, Kylie and Maddison. She was the sister of the late Albert and Arthur Hagenberg and mother-in-law of the late Kathleen (McSoley) Meehan.

A private family funeral service will be held in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. A private family burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Doris’s memory to the Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen, 55 Tuner Avenue, Riverside, 02915 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. John and Paul… Bob and I were saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. So many memories of her over the years. Much laughter sitting in Jordan’s back yard! She will be missed.
