McGarry, Dorothy, T., of Riverside, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 1, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John P. McGarry Sr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward L. and Annie J. (Miller) Kollett, she lived in Riverside for 57 years.

Mrs. McGarry was a graduate of the former St. Xavier’s Academy and worked as a legal secretary until marrying her husband and raising her family.

Dorothy was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the Forever Young Club.

She is survived by two sons; John P. McGarry Jr. and his wife Carrie of North Kingstown and Kevin J. McGarry of Little Compton, a daughter; Maureen D. McGarry of Portsmouth and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded by her three brothers and five sisters.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday October 6, 2011 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
