Taylor, Douglas Littlefield, 59, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 20, 2009.

Born in Providence on October 12, 1950, he was the son of Virginia S. Baxter and the late Warren L. Taylor.

Mr. Taylor enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968. Upon his discharge, he worked in the construction field for several years before enrolling in Johnson and Wales University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and subsequently enrolled in URI, graduating with a second Bachelor of Science degree in Resource Development. He worked at the Jewish Memorial Hospital in Boston before creating his own Home Improvement Co. Due to illness, he retired in 2004.

Douglas enjoyed sports, fishing, and spending time with his dog, Einstein. He was a member of the American Legion, the Portuguese American Club and the Elks National Foundation.

Besides his mother, Virginia Baxter of Barrington, he is survived by two sons; Zachary G. Taylor and his wife Erin of Colorado Springs, CO, David W. Taylor of West Kingston, one brother; Bruce H. Taylor of Florida and one sister; Kirstin S. Sloman of Warren.

His funeral and burial will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME.
