Phillips, Edgar, W., 68, of Bullocks Point Avenue, Riverside Terrace, Riverside, died peacefully on June 28, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Deborah M. (Oddi) Phillips, they were married for 47 years.
A lifelong resident of Riverside, he was the son of Berta (McCusker) Phillips of Sarasota, FL and the late Edgar Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a mechanic for the Waste Water Treatment Plant, Riverside for 25 years before retiring in 2006.
Edgar was a United States Coast Guard Veteran serving during Vietnam. He was a member of the Riverside Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus. He was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing, wintering in Florida and spending time with his loving family and grandchildren.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Joshua W. Phillips and his wife Jennifer of Weston, FL; a daughter, Megan C. Lynch and her husband of Michael of Merrick, NY; four grandchildren, Aidan, Ronan, Ryan and Harper; three brothers, Thomas Phillips of Barrington, John Phillips of Sarasota, FL and Matthew Phillips of Riverside and six sisters, Daphne Phillips of Riverside, Sally Jo Easton of CT; Jennifer Archetto of CT, Jude Rouslin of Sarasota, FL, Elizabeth Zucchi of Seekonk, MA and Ann Marie Jouvensal of Seynod, France. He was the brother of the late Gus Phillips.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday evening July 2, 2016 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 6 p.m.
