Edward J. Strycharz, 89, formerly of Burlingame Road, Smithfield, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol Ann (Cady) Strycharz, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
Born in Providence, Edward was the son of the late Joseph and Aniela (Bielaska) Strycharz. He made Smithfield his home for 46 years, where he raised his family and built lasting friendships within the community.
Edward dedicated 40 years of his professional life as a skilled and well-respected Repair Printer Technician for the Xerox Corporation, retiring in 1995. He proudly served his country as a United States Air Force Veteran from 1955 to 1959.
Edward found joy working on auto body projects, boating, fishing, and bowling. A true sports enthusiast, he was especially devoted to the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his loving children: a son, Edward J. Strycharz Jr. of Johnston; three daughters, Christine A. Gibeau of Richmond, Doreen A. Lachance of Johnston, and Diane A. McKitchen of Coventry. He was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A Committal Service with burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
