Conboy, Eileen, E., 69, of Glenrose Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on April 8, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Thomas A. Conboy.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Richard M. and Rose H. (Galvin) Grundy, she lived in Riverside for 42 years.

Mrs. Conboy was one of the first school social workers in RI, working in Pawtucket where she then taught in the GRASP reading program until her retirement in 1976. She later worked at the East Providence Community Center and then substitute taught for the East Providence School Department.

Eileen was a graduate of South Kingstown High School Class of 1962. She then went on to receive her B.A. from the University of Rhode Island Class of 1966 and Masters of Education in 1973 where she also was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.

Mrs. Conboy was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. She was an active and enthusiastic volunteer at the Waddington School P.T.A. and the St. Mary Academy Bay View Parents Group. She enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She especially treasured her time with her loving grandson Giancarlo.

Besides her husband of 42 years, she is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth A. Bartone and her husband John of Derby, CT and a grandson, Giancarlo Biagio Bartone.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Tuner Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery,Pawtucket.
