Paiva, Elizabeth R., 91, of Holland Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on November 24, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the former wife of the late Dennis L. Paiva.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward and Ruth E. (Conklin) Mellom, she lived in Riverside for 79 years.

Mrs. Paiva was a Manager in the Jewelry Department at the former Zayre’s Department Store, East Providence from 1967-2003.

Elizabeth was a member of the Barrington Senior Center where she was an avid bingo player. A sports enthusiast, she was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn R. Venceslau of Marlborough, CT, Paul D. Paiva and his wife Cathy of Middleboro, MA and Michael E. Paiva and his wife Annette of Smithfield; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William Mellom.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday December 1, 2023 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn-North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, MA. Calling hours are Thursday 4-7 p.m.

    Cannot believe one of my favorite aunts and my last is gone. I will and have always treasured my childhood memories of auntie Betty, especially her kindness to me growing up and her smooth moves on a dance floor!
