Chadwick, Elsie M., 103, of South Broadway, East Providence, died peacefully on November 29, 2021 at the Waterview Villa Health Center, East Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John P. Chadwick Sr.

Born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late James M. and Elsie (Clegg) Armfield, she lived in East Providence for 8 years previously residing in Lincoln.

Mrs. Chadwick was a Supervisor at the A.T. Cross Company for 17 years before retiring in 1980.

Elsie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her loving grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the loving support and care of our mother to her Waterview Villa family.

She is survived by a son, John P. Chadwick Jr. and his wife Pamela of East Providence; two daughters, Kathleen A. German of Warwick and Claire M. Garon of North Providence; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Stephen F. Chadwick and sister of the late Elizabeth Rinaldi and mother-in-law of the late George German and Steven Garon Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside on Friday December 3, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland at 1 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Elsie’s memory to The Waterview Villa Resident Council Fund, Attn: Barbara Ellis-Voltas, 1275 South Broadway, East Providence, RI, 02914 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. I a so sorry for your loss. I met Elise at Waterview Villa , Years ago,and just recently this last June. Kenny and I sat with her for many lunches and she was just a peach ! We enjoyed her company so much she will be missed.Sincerely

  6. Oh how I loved her coming to the art classes I taught at Waterview. She was an A+ student! What a sweet soul she was. I visited her every chance I got before Covid hit and I helped her celebrate her 100th birthday. rest in peace, sweet Elsie. My condolences to the family.

  7. Your mother was very loved by everyone at CROSS. My mom and I used to carpool with her to and from AT Cross, where we all worked for many years.
    Cherish the memories of her kind heart and memories of all the precious times you shared with her. What a wonderful long life she had. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  10. Elsie was very good to my mother Gloria when she was a patient there and wrote me a lovely card when my mom passed. She was a caring and kind lady who I always will remember. I was there for her 99th birthday celebration. Rest In Peace Elsie.

  12. My Deepest and Sincere Condolences go out to the Chadwick family!! I was able to meet and care for Elsie from the first day at Waterview Villa. She was always a joy to speak with, loved her smile. She would always talk about going to Newport with me and my mom to go shopping!! I will miss her greatly, she was truly blessed, loved and appreciated by all!!! Rest peacefully Elsie ????
