Elsie Rodrigues (Acciardo)

Rodrigues, Elsie, (Acciardo), 98, of Valley Drive, Bristol, died peacefully after a brief illness on July 13, 2022 at the Grace Barker Nursing Home with her loving daughter Denise by her side. She was the wife of the late Dominic Rodrigues Jr.

Born in Barrington, a daughter of the late Angelo and Angelina (Picozzi) Acciardo, she lived in Bristol for 70 years.

Mrs. Rodrigues was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was past President of the Residential Council at Grace Barker. She enjoyed solving daily crossword puzzles, Sudoku, bingo, scratching lottery tickets as she was semi-retired from playing cards, scrabble, password and Jeopardy.

Besides her daughter Denise Costa of Bristol, she is also survived by two sons, Dominic Rodrigues III and his wife Sandra of Bristol and Dennis Rodrigues and his wife Debra of Swansea, MA; a brother, Thomas Acciardo of Barrington; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Rodrigues, Rene Rodrigues and Devin Costa; two great grandchildren, Justin Rodrigues and Jordan Rodrigues; several nieces and nephews and her extended family at Grace Barker. She is the sister of the late Anthony, Daniel and Vincent Acciardo, Louise DeLuca, Philomena Pannone and Rosann Fonseca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday July 18, 2022 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol at 10 a.m.

Calling hours are Sunday July 17, 2022 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 2-6 p.m.

Your Mom was the best and as her daughter you gave her the love, respect and caring that she deserved she loved you so much and had shown that on a daily basis. I will always remember the fun we had with her playing cards or just sitting around talking. She is now walking around with your Dad!!! Love you! Mini❤️❤️

  5. Denise, I have fond memories of your mom when I was delivering Meals on Wheels to her years ago. She always greeted me and my mom with a smile and kind words. And, of course, the box of mints she’d give us every Christmas. She was a thoughtful, kind woman who raised a thoughtful, kind woman. ?❤️
