Richard, Eugene, ‘Gene’, Francis, passed away peacefully and was called to the Lord on May 16, 2015 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. He was born on October 14, 1930 in Pawtucket, RI to Henry and Grace (Vickery) Flynn. He was a resident of Warren, RI and of Estero, FL. He attended Pawtucket West High School (Tolman High School), and Bryant College. In 1950, he joined the United States Navy, where he was stationed at Quonset Point Naval Air Station. He proudly served as an airman during the Korean War. Gene was a talented athlete who loved baseball and played for the Brooklyn Dodgers farm team.On June 26, 1954 he married the love of his life, Dolores Anne Sheridan (Sheri), and they raised six children together. Gene had a successful career as an executive with the New England Telephone company for over 45 years. He was a Paul Harris Fellow, and a former president of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth, RI. Gene was a very religious man who was active in in Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Estero, FL and in St. Mary of the Bay in Warren, RI where he was a member and usher. He was a very outgoing and jovial man who was beloved by all who knew him. After celebrating 53 years of marriage together, Gene’s beloved Sheri preceded him in death on August 24th, 2007. Gene is survived by his six children, Jeffrey Richard and his wife Lillian of Mendon, MA, Dawn Davies of Wayland, MA, Terence Richard and his wife Barbara of Ponte Vedra, FL, Rosemary Richard of Menlo Park, CA, Colleen McCabe and her husband Robert of Marlborough, MA, Maureen Miller and her husband Steve of West Greenwich, RI, and eleven grandchildren; Felicia Richard, Samantha Richard, Anthony Richard, Richard Davies, Robbie McCabe, Brenna Miller, Jake Richard, Margaret Davies, Meaghan McCabe, Diana Richard, andEleanor Davies. He will be deeply missed.

His funeral will be held on Thursday May 21, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
