St. Onge, Eva, D., 100, of Riverside, pictured here on her 100th birthday, passed from her loved ones peacefully on February 21, 2010.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Ferreira) Cabral and the widow of J.R. Edward St. Onge. She was the mother of two surviving children; Jeanne McNulty Carter of Riverside and Ronald St. Onge of Smithfield and the late Edward A. St. Onge and Kenneth J.R. St. Onge, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of nine and great great grandmother of four. She was the sister of the late Adeline DesMarais, Charles Cabral Sr., Mary Sears and Lydia Geremia. She was the aunt of Robert Geremia and Diane DesMarais of Florida, Charles Cabral II of Jamestown and Michael Geremia of North Carolina.

In her younger years, Eva was a champion dancer of the Charleston and the Black Bottom, which were popular in earlier times. She was also an award winning bowler and an expert solver of crossword puzzles.

Eva was always known as an outstanding cook who was often consulted for her recipes which ranged over all the western cuisines. She was also skilled in sewing and embroidery and enjoyed movies, dining out and music.

In her later years, she enjoyed trips to the Azores Islands and Caribbean areas. She was the most generous of persons and always in a great and smiling disposition. She was loved and treasured by all who knew her.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday February 25, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 pm.
