Alves, Evelyn B., 90, of Bernard Avenue, died peacefully on October 12, 2016. She was the wife of the late Edmund L. Alves.

A lifelong resident of Barrington, she was the daughter of the late Abram and Maisie (Best) Stone.

Mrs. Alves was an operator for the former New England Telephone Co. for many years.

Evelyn was an avid reader and devoted herself to her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Edmund L. Alves Jr. and his wife Linda of Barrington, Ronald W. Alves of Barrington, Walter J. Alves and his wife Rebecca of Metairie, LA and Sharon E. Coakley and her husband John of Stafford, VA and seven grandchildren, Michael Alves, Thomas Alves, Jacqueline McGovern, John Coakley Jr., Matthew Coakley, Stephanie Alves and Melissa LeBoeuf.

A private Funeral Service will be held in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
