Evelyn F. Jones, 91, formerly of Whitcomb Road, Riverside, died peacefully on November 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in East Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Perry) Carey, she lived in East Providence for 57 years.

Mrs. Jones was a bookkeeper for Textron Inc. for 20 years before retiring in 1986.

Evelyn was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the parish’s Daughters of Isabella and Forever Young Club. She enjoyed traveling, dining out and bird watching. She was a devoted Providence College Basketball fan.

She is survived by two sons, Adrian Carey of Cranston and David A. Jones an his wife Rosemary of St. George, UT; a daughter, Lucinda D. ‘Cindy’ Jones of Delmar, MD; a sister, Constance Boyd of Riverside and two grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Paul, Estelle and Joseph Carey Jr.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday November 24, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 5-8 p.m.
